Steve Aggasild is a seasoned soul music broadcaster with a long-standing presence in the radio world, driven by a deep passion for rhythm, groove and musical expression. His journey in soul began in the early 1970s in Aberdeen, Scotland, where an early love of Motown, Stax and Philly soul set the tone for a lifetime of musical discovery.

Steve’s broadcasting career spans decades and encompasses soul shows on a variety of radio platforms, including hospital radio, BBC Radio Scotland and independent soul stations. His early break came in 1982 with the first dedicated soul programme on Aberdeen’s Northsound Radio, where his blend of heartfelt soul and danceable grooves quickly earned him a loyal following.

Known affectionately as “The Soul Master,” Steve brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every broadcast. His shows are rooted in soulful narratives, blending classic sounds with deeper cuts that reflect his encyclopedic knowledge of the genre and a genuine affection for the music that has shaped generations.
